Find the Jobs Activity
Students receive posters with different scenarios of interest (such as a national league sports game, concert, video game convention, racecar meet, food court, etc)
In groups of 3-4 people, students must identify as many jobs that are directly or indirectly related to their scene
For example, if the scenario is a concert, the direct jobs might be singer, musician, lighting and sound guys, and then the indirect (or less obvious) jobs are usher, tour manager, concession stand staff, security guards, record labels, companies that sponsor the artist, people who supply the food, cleaners, managers, etc.
The point is to get students thinking about all the jobs that don't exist within a university or TAFE handbook
